二 | 查询公开资料，Compact OS 并非新功能，最早可以追溯到 2014 年推出的 Windows 10 Build 9879 预览版，在 2015 年发布的 Windows 10 1507 更新中上线，可以压缩系统的核心文件，为硬盘释放数 GB 的宝贵空间。

三 | 微软表示，该功能适用于存储空间和内存有限的设备，通常能为系统盘节省 2GB~4GB 的存储空间，最早是为了照顾 32GB 甚至 16GB 存储的低端平板和轻薄本。微软自身的文件夹大小对比测试表明，这种方式可以节省大量空间。在一台配备 4GB 内存的 Windows 10 x64 系统上，未启用 Compact OS 时，文件夹占用空间约为 15.06GB；而启用 Compact OS 后，文件夹占用空间约为 11.3GB。如果同时启用单实例模式，文件夹占用空间还会进一步降至约 10.09GB。

四 | 性能影响方面，微软表示实际性能影响实际上取决于存储设备和计算设备的相对性能。压缩意味着读取次数更少，这会从存储设备中删除负载并提高 I/O 性能; 以及更多解压缩，这会增加 CPU 负载并降低性能。激活方式为以管理员身份打开命令提示符 (CMD) 并输入：compact /compactos:always根据网友晒出的测试图片，在启用该选项后，压缩比例为 1.8:1（相当于被缩减了约 44.4% 的体积，只剩下了原来大约 55.6% 的大小），性能影响约为 1%。
